Why not come riding with us. From beginners to intermediates we have a room for everybody. Starting and returning to the coffee shop provides a warm and social environment for all who take part.
Wednesday Evenings – Ladies and beginners ride – British Summer Time only
An excellent place to start, don’t have a bicycle, haven’t ridden for years, looking for an easy going place to start? This is the ride for you. Every Wednesday evening, whatever the weather, arrive at the shop at 7pm, depart 7.30pm. You can hire a bicycle for £6 per ride and the route comprises of three loops, 3 miles on the flat, 2 miles with a small climb and then a 5 mile poodle through the countryside. Each section returns to the shop so your first week may only include the 3 mile loop but you will soon be easily completing the 10 miles in an hour and be one of the more experienced riders helping the real beginners.
Saturday Mornings – Beginners and Intermediate ride (all year round)
Very similar to the Wednesday evening ride following the same simple looped routes for beginners and allowing time for intermediate riders to travel a bit further afield as a separate group if they wish.
Every Saturday morning, whatever the weather, arrive at the shop at 9am, depart 9.30am
Sunday Mornings – Social ride (intermediate) all year round
A social riding group for mixed abilities and bicycles, including electric bikes. The ride is normally around 1.5 hours in duration and between 14 and 24 miles depending on peoples abilities. The aim is to encourage people to take on longer journeys and routes they might not usually consider. Lots of conversation on the way round and the advantage of tea and cake available in the coffee shop at the end of the ride.
Every Sunday morning, whatever the weather, arrive at the shop at 10am, depart 10.30am
Beginners joining the rides will be asked to pay a £10 membership fee for the first 6 months to cover admin and bike health checks. Also while helmets are not a legal requirement beginners will be asked to wear one (we loan them out) until they are confident enough to be choose otherwise. Please note that Social rides are not formally organised and can be led by any member of the group and as such people take part under their own recognisance.
